Clover funds on hold · ShieldBill Pay
Clover holding funds?
Keep your business selling.
Your till keeps ringing. Your deposit hasn’t arrived. Find the funding issue. We’ll help get another approved processor ready for your next sale.
Find the merchant-service provider behind your Clover setup. Match the deposit to the batch and statement before treating a missing bank payment as a closed processing account.
Clover deposit missing?
Find your funding provider.
Clover is sold through different merchant-service providers. Its support guidance directs merchants to account-specific help and the number on their statement. Use that route for the service funding your account.
Keep the merchant ID, location, batch date, expected amount and destination bank together. A working Clover screen does not establish whether a batch was funded. This guide covers merchant deposits, not a temporary authorisation on a shopper’s card.
- Identify the provider and account on the merchant statement.
- Match the affected location and batch.
- Check the destination bank and deposit reference.
- Save any funding-hold or information-request notice.
Batch closed. No deposit?
Reconcile the payment records.
Review whether the batch was closed and sent for processing. Fiserv’s merchant-support material distinguishes batch funding from other adjustments that affect the deposit. Compare the batch report with fees, refunds and disputes rather than the till’s gross sales total alone.
Use your provider’s settlement schedule and support response. If money is missing, ask whether the batch was funded, returned or retained. Keep the case reference and any requested documents. Do not assume the time quoted for another Clover merchant applies to your contract.
| What you see | What to ask |
|---|---|
| A closed batch without a bank deposit | Was it funded, returned or retained? |
| A smaller deposit than sales | Which fees, refunds or disputes changed the net amount? |
| A request for information | What is needed and where should it be submitted? |
| Payments or the account disabled | Which functions stopped and what review route applies? |
Funding on hold?
Get the conditions in writing.
Ask the merchant-service team for the reason, affected funds and the steps it needs from you. Keep the reserve or restriction notice alongside the applicable agreement. Submit supporting records only through its approved secure process.
Do not confuse Clover’s software support, your merchant account and a device lease. Record who owns each issue. The provider controlling settlement must explain the retained funds; replacing a terminal does not release that balance.
Need another processor?
Prepare the new setup.
Tell us what you sell, your country, volume and the funding issue. Include counter sales, online checkout, invoices, bookings and subscriptions. We find suitable PSPs and help prepare an accurate application.
We help merchants resume processing in days. Account approval, documents and the actual connection or terminal work determine the launch. Get fees, reserves and settlement clear. Confirm whether hardware must change; a Clover device is not automatically portable to another processor.
- Choose which sales channels need a replacement.
- Confirm terminal, printer, receipt and staff requirements.
- Check the checkout and any recurring-payment migration.
- Test a payment, refund and reconciliation before switching.
Ready to change providers?
Keep the handover controlled.
Plan the switch around real trading hours. Give staff the approved instructions and avoid collecting the same sale twice. Keep access required for old refunds, disputes and funding records.
For recurring customers, confirm eligible saved-card migration and billing schedules separately. With ShieldBill, prepare supported backup processing after the new account works. Keep the retained Clover-related balance with the original provider’s process.
PUT THE PLAN TO WORK
Your Clover missing-deposit checklist.
Match the batch and funding provider before changing the payment setup.
Clover hardware is not automatically portable. The original merchant-service provider controls retained funds and existing obligations.
Common questions.
Why is Clover holding my funds?
First identify the merchant-service provider and the affected batch. Missing funding can involve settlement timing, adjustments, a returned deposit or a funding restriction. Your statement, account notice and provider response establish the issue.
Who should I contact about missing Clover deposits?
Use personalised Clover Help or the direct support number on your merchant statement. Tell the team the merchant ID, batch date, amount and expected destination. Avoid relying on a sales contact for an existing funding case.
Can I keep my Clover hardware with a new PSP?
Do not assume so. Confirm the device, merchant provider, integration and contract requirements. The replacement may need different terminals, installation or staff training.
Can you get my business processing again in days?
Yes. We help find a new PSP and get onboarding moving in days. Approval, complete documents and a tested online or counter-payment connection determine the actual launch.
Will switching processors release the missing deposit?
No. The original merchant-service provider handles the retained funds and existing obligations. We focus on another approved payment setup for future sales.
