Worldpay funds on hold · ShieldBill Pay
Worldpay holding funds?
Keep new sales coming.
Your customers paid. Your payout hasn’t arrived. Get the hold clear. We’ll help find your next processor and keep future sales moving while you handle the existing balance.
Identify your Worldpay product, contracting entity and affected settlement. A gateway response, a bank delay and a retained merchant balance need different action plans.
Which Worldpay service?
Find who handles the funds.
Start with the merchant statement, account notice and settlement record. Record the merchant ID, product, currency and expected payout. Check who provides acquiring, who operates the gateway and which bank should receive the money.
Worldpay serves different products and markets. Do not apply another merchant’s release date or contract to your account. The UK platform terms linked below illustrate one agreement; your own signed terms and account notices govern your funds.
| What stopped | What to establish |
|---|---|
| A bank payout | The settlement reference, destination and expected date. |
| A reserve or retained amount | The notice, covered funds and release conditions. |
| New processing | The account status, review requests and affected channels. |
| An online payment | Whether the gateway, acquiring account or checkout failed. |
A payout is missing?
Trace that exact settlement.
Use the support route for your Worldpay product or your relationship manager. Worldpay’s UK merchant-support page directs merchants to their account dashboard for transactions and settlement information. Keep that record open when asking about the missing amount.
Ask whether the funds were sent, returned, offset or retained. Request the reason, documents needed and any account-specific review or release conditions. Keep the support reference and written response. Do not send account credentials or sensitive supporting documents through our enquiry form.
Future sales can’t wait.
Find your next processor.
Tell us what you sell, your company country, monthly volume and the Worldpay issue. Include online, telephone, invoice and counter payments. We find suitable PSPs and help prepare an accurate application.
We help merchants resume processing in days. Approval, documents and the connection work determine the launch. Compare fees, settlement and reserve terms before committing. A new provider handles future payments; it does not release the existing Worldpay balance.
- Explain the restriction and processing history accurately.
- Confirm business, country and payment-method eligibility.
- Check the gateway and acquiring-account responsibilities.
- Test payments, refunds and order updates before launch.
Changing your payment setup?
Keep customers in the plan.
Map terminals, checkout, recurring billing and reporting before switching. If only the acquiring account changes, confirm whether the gateway can remain. If a terminal must change, plan installation and staff training.
For subscriptions, identify the saved-card provider and next billing dates. We help plan eligible credential migration while access and provider support allow it. Billing schedules need their own handover. Do not assume a Worldpay reference works in another PSP.
Existing funds still held?
Keep the review on track.
Keep existing refunds, disputes and retained funds assigned to an owner. Changing future processing does not end the old account’s obligations. Use confirmed available funds when planning what the business can spend.
Once the replacement is approved and tested, prepare another supported payment route with ShieldBill. Record when it can be used and how you prevent duplicate collection. Give your team a working plan before the next interruption.
PUT THE PLAN TO WORK
Your Worldpay held-funds action list.
Identify the account and settlement, then prepare future processing separately.
Your own Worldpay contract governs retained funds. Another PSP does not release that balance. Approval and supported integration determine the new launch.
Common questions.
Why is Worldpay holding my funds?
Check the settlement record and your account notice. A delay, a reserve, a returned payout and an account restriction are different situations. Ask the team responsible for your Worldpay product about the exact transaction or balance.
How long can Worldpay retain the money?
Use the agreement and notice for your account. Product, country, outstanding liabilities and the reason for retention matter. We do not apply a universal hold period or promise a release date.
Can I keep my gateway and change the processor?
Sometimes, if the gateway, new acquirer and your contracts support it. Confirm the actual connection and responsibilities before applying. Terminals and stored payment references need separate checks.
Can ShieldBill Pay get me processing again in days?
Yes. We help find your next PSP and get onboarding moving in days. Your documents, provider approval, integration and testing set the actual launch date.
Will the new PSP recover my Worldpay balance?
No. The original provider and relevant bank handle the existing funds. Our provider search and backup plan focus on future payments and recurring customers.
